obsessed with this book, feels very neurodivergent-coded. it’s supposed to be funny and light-hearted but i also found it a little sad at times thinking about how they won’t just let her be herself. ultimately a very enjoyable read, and written in a very easy to read style.

very similar to EARTHLINGS in that keiko finds herself not being able to be a part of society’s “factory” (but an entirely different tone) CONVENIENCE STORE WOMAN was a very relatable read as a neurodivergent person myself. i didn’t get much more out of it beyond that, but it was nice to feel seen.
