An amazing debut! Tonight, I Burn has intricate characters, and they tug on your heartstrings as you follow Penny’s journey through a tyrannical regime. I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book!stephanieviolet's review

I came away with more questions than answers. There is torture, magical enslavement, abuse and forced control. I found the book dark and tedious. Even the action was slow paced. I won't be reading the second, I'll just read a summary on Wikipedia. It was too depressing for me.
Graphic: Emotional abuse, Physical abuse, Self harm, Slavery, Torture, Violence, Forced institutionalization, Religious bigotry, Fire/Fire injury, and Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Body horror, Bullying, Child death, Confinement, Death, Suicidal thoughts, Suicide, Blood, and Death of parent
