Jhumpa Lahiri has a beautiful way of writing people. They feel real. Even when I dislike the character, I enjoy seeing whatever journey they go on.

My favorite stories are When Mr. Pirzada Came to Dine, A Real Durwan, Mrs. Sen’s, and The Third and Final Continent.

so so lovely <3 there is so much life and beauty in these stories. Jhumpa is a gifted writer and makes you feel for her characters in just a few pages. my favorites were “A Temporary Matter,” “Interpreter of Maladies,” and “The Third and Final Continent” but I enjoyed them all.

I dont think ive read this entire book, but just the first story alone was so beautiful and heartbreaking, It completely changed how I view and value the crafting of short stories.
