Neh, ikke noe spess. Kjedelig for å være en mafiabok… og irriterende sidekarakterer og kjedelig grunn bak det third act breakup

descriptionThis cover is just OK. It's a little boring in my opinion. Nothing about it says "READ ME" and it doesn't give a good representation of the story within. It is just kind of "MEH" overall.description

descriptionA year ago Addison lost her husband Liam to a drunk driver. Haunted by his memory and encouraged by her best friend Sia, Addi decides it is time to make some changes and moves into The Mauricio. A very exclusive, very expensive building that no one is quite sure who owns. There she runs into the attractive and mysterious owner himself COLE.

What starts off as a spark of attraction is soon a full-fledged fire, but Cole is keeping secrets. Secrets that could tear him and Addi apart. Secrets that along with Addi's past place her directly in the line of fire...

I enjoyed this one for the most part. It was well-written. The plot had a nice pace to it. The story was engaging. It had twist and turns. Interesting secondary characters (including a Carter Reed cameo). I thought Addison was a very likable heroine. Cole was interesting but a TINY bit underdeveloped to me. This could be because we get VERY little from his POV making it harder for me the reader to connect with him. I was left feeling at the end that for the most part, he was still a mystery to me.

On top of that, I also thought it was a bit on the long side with the ending feeling rushed. Again this is where I believe that it would have been helpful to have been given Cole's POV.

In any case, like I said overall I did find this an enjoyable way to spend a few hours. Two thumbs up from yours truly.description

Author Tijan did it again!

WOW!

This book is a very good Mafia Story!

Love bad men & the exciting forbidden world of it.

Totally pulled into this story and loved the relationship of Cole and Addison.

Yes I fell in love with the super head over heels in with the Sexy Cole.

And boy, there were many times that I thought I had this story figured out and then twists came out of nowhere that had my cherries bursting in excitement.

Another well written book by Tijan!

I am ready for the next one!

2.5 stars

First of all, I really I want to give it atleast 3 stars but I feel like I missing out something and having a hard time connecting with the characters.

This is Mafia story so I expect more mafia action/suspense/drama whatsoever but the story is pretty tame on my opinion. Yes, Cole is giving us the mysterious vibe but not so much really.
Relationship development is so fast.I wanted to feel their connection first, the building up of their feelings but they just suddenly jump on it.
Some scenes feels like it was rush.

Throughout the story, there are moments I almost fall asleep or wanna put it on dnf but I want to give it a shot.

So overall, despite my issues I mentioned the book is just okay. Nothing surprising but quite interesting. Just undeveloped for me.

Not my favorite, but it was decent. I felt there wasn't enough scenes with Cole and Addison. So the connection between them was minimal. Maybe Reading Carter Reed spoiled me, but Cole was not as intense as Carter. The first few scenes, Cole was this intense mafia king, but then that just faltered as I kept reading. Few things that bugged me, Sia was a horrible best friend, not enough scenes with Cole and Addison, and Liam was mentioned throughout the entire book. Addison never truly moved on and Cole lived in the shadow of that. Tijan is one of my favorite authors, but this book wasn't as amazing as her other ones.

Loved Cole

I really really loved this book. It was exciting, sweet, and lethal. Addison was such a strong girl, picking herself up from everything she had been through. And Cole was the perfect hero. He never pushed, rushed or expected more then she was able to give.

i love a good badass female protagonist that stands up for herself: but this book didnt really have that. though, i did not hate the main character. felt it bit odd at times, but i did enjoy the book. not overly mafia related which was a bit boring.
