3.5-4 stars.

A funny, inclusive, body-positive, you-go-girlfriend, feminist book.

Baker writes with a great tone, with lots of great stories and anecdotes to bring the ideas down to the practical level.

This is truly a fantastic source of information, health concepts, historical ideas, context and general awesomeness all rolled into a tone and type of writing that will appeal to a wide variety of people. Although Baker throws down some awesome feminist critiques and knowledge, she does it in such a way that people who may be turned off by more academic offerings, would still pick up and read this book. And that's fantastic.

Throughout the book there are essays written by others on a variety of topics - from dieting, body-love, weight, race, and queer politics.

Jes has also added in "Fat People Do All The Things Challenges!" sprinkled through each chapter - from things like "Do a cannonball into a swimming pool!" to "wear ironic shirts!", to "roll down a hill!"

This is a great addition to the growing body (ha!) of work on body-positivity, feminist critiques of health-culture and the beauty-myth. A fun, ego-boosting, screw-'em-all, rollicking good book on loving your fine self just the exact way you are right now.

With thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance copy!

A useful book in addition to being well-written and easy to read. So useful (with tasks! Ones I look forward to) I bought a copy after I finished my library copy.

I have followed Jes for years, from the time when her blog was just about baking, through now where she is an amazing, fearless body love warrior. This book is brave and revolutionary and made me cry more than once. Jes is real, and feels like a real friend talking to you through these pages.

anyone who has issues with their body should read this. it will open your eyes and your mind to the issues at hand and offer really great suggestions on how to love yourself. there were times i felt the author would get all fired up about an issue but then back off- i wanted her to follow through unapologetically on everything that she said. as a white, able bodied female i had also never considered how men feel about their bodies, how people of color or people with disabilities or people who are genderqueer or trans felt about their bodies and having insight from other authors included in this book was VERY mind opening to me.
