This is a pretty little book of poetry, more lustful than loving. It includes a few particularly poignant poems alongside some that strike the heart a little less.

While mostly from the 19th century I had hoped there would have been a few more modern ones. Still there are some bangers in here while others are very much a product of their time in terms of prose which is pretty dope to see.

It's a sweet selection. Most are about the poets' partners but a few are about other things (e.g. god, an unrequited love, etc.).

Some poems I’ll definitely come back to and reread, but didn’t feel inspired beside a good 4/5 poems. Not terrible though, plus it could just be me!
