There were some gems in here. I appreciate many of the topics and the sample prayers. But it also felt dated (even though mine was an updated edition with a recently added chapter) with some actually toxic beliefs. Specifically I struggled to get beyond the “make yourself attractive for your husband” and “keep house so he’ll have a peaceful place to come home to” messaging.

Stormie O'Martin has written 100 devotions for this book. Each is only two pages long, and contains a centering passage and a related prayer. The reader can read straight through the book, or pick and choose topics. Each devotion should take no longer than 5-15 minutes, per day.
In the Introduction, O'Martin explains that her devotions alternate between a wife's prayer for herself, prayer for her husband and prayer for her marriage. She emphasizes that a woman's prayer for herself as a wife is crucial to being able to maintain a good, strong marriage -- at least, as much as is dependent upon a wife.
I read O'Martin's 'Power of a Praying Wife' many years ago. That book contained chapters on marriage and a bit of prayer. At the time, I did feel that my prayers were affecting our home and relationship in a more peaceful, positive way. O'Martin brings good insight into God's word as it relates to personal growth and to marriage.
