I loved this book so much. I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews and I have to disagree with a lot of them. I love mystery and crime novels. Most of the ones I’ve read the main character is a cop instead of the mother. That’s just typically my experience. I’ve seen reviews saying that they don’t like the mother and I resonated with her. At the beginning she is in a hateful emotionally abusive, unfaithful relationship with the father of her son. She’s doing her best and putting all of her focus on her son and then he gets kidnapped and you see her go through grief, depression, suicidal thoughts and tendencies. I cried a lot throughout the book myself. I will give a trigger warning to Attempted rape, suicide, loss of a loved one, alcoholism, kidnapping, and death.

Trite writing style, predictable in its stereotyped characters. I was glad for having solid resolution in the end.

This was a great and sad story. I cried and laughed and enjoyed the whole book. The narrator was great as well. I would recommend this book.

Sadie's son is kidnapped by someone known to the press and police as 'The Fog'. This leads to the breakdown of Sadie's marriage to husband Phil and leads her to seek solace at a caravan park in the middle of nowhere.
I thought this was a good story, but the ending was a little farfetched and convenient.

I enjoyed this book a great deal. At first I had a hard time getting into the main character, but eventually I really started liking her and sympathizing with her. There were some trite moments in the story, but over all it was very entertaining, heart wrenching and very suspenseful. There were a few nights I needed to get in bed early and yet I did not want to stop reading. I liked the paranormal bent to the story. It kept you guessing and it worked really well for the whole thing. Absolutely a book I would recommend if you enjoy paranormal mysteries.
