The Ex by Nicola Moriarty

I just discovered another fabulous author! Nicola Moriarty writes the way I love to read, drip feeding the reader with enough information to keep us wanting more (like the book junkie I am) and making us forget about everything else. The Ex is a fast paced psychological suspense thriller with a few "what the...?" moments, some twists along the way, and a satisfying end. If I weren't buddy reading this one I could have easily lapped it up in one sitting!
So if you haven't read this book yet, what are you waiting for??

Unable to review without spoilers. Needless to say I read it in three days, its a rollercoaster, it’s very Aussie (except she doesn’t seem to know about unemployment benefits AND another character thinks she has a bohemian apartment in a decidedly NOT bohemian part of Sydney), AND WHY DONT THESE PEOPLE GO TO THE POLICE?

I actually didn’t remember what this was about so I was presently surprised to find out that it was a domestic thriller. The story follows Georgia who has just started dating Luke. As Luke and Georgia get closer she starts to receive these threatening messages from Luke’s ex girlfriend Cadence who he still lives with. But being a domestic thriller that’s obviously not the whole story. Told in two main parts following each of the women this had me gripped. I had multiple theories as I was reading this, one turned out to be half right but I could never have prepared myself for this sort of thing.
I enjoyed that I didn’t really know what information to trust, I enjoyed trying to work out what was really going on, how reliable Luke’s description of Cadence really is. It was an easy enjoyable, fast paced read.
This is a genre I have come to Love so it’s great when I find new authors that do it well. I will definitely be check out more by this author.

This book was just crazy. Firstly, it felt a bit too close to home being set in Western Sydney in literally a suburb I go to all the time, listing places I know and have been to. So weird. Secondly, this book is mental but in all the fun ways. I loved the thrill of the story and the twists and turns it took. The ending kept me on the edge of my seat. Thirdly, if this book has proved anything to me it is that men are vile. If I didn’t already dislike men, I would now.
Nicola Moriarty is a great author and I’m keen to read some more of her books.

A friend from work lent me her copy of this and all she said was it wasn't high literature but it sucks you in. And I totally agree. I saw a lot of the twists and turns coming (again, unsure if big brain or it was just obviously signposted) but even knowing how it would end I was absolutely absorbed in it and finished it in about a day and a half.

I devoured this story!!! It was crazy right till the end - and I enjoyed the plot twists. For a quick read, there was a lot of characters with back stories, and great attention to details.
Definitely a binge worthy read

I just love Nicola's easy writing style that gets me super invested in all her books. This one is about the perfect boyfriend who has a very troublesome ex who won't leave the new couple alone.
