Although this book could be confusing at times, the world building, gentle love story, and found family is truly remarkable!

It really bothers me, because I really enjoyed the rest of the series, even as it got increasingly weirder and more complex. I kind of wish Dabos had stuck with the arranged marriage/forced adaption to a hostile environment plotline and kept it simpler.
Graphic: Death, Violence, and Medical trauma
Moderate: Emotional abuse and Forced institutionalization

Minor: Cursing, Death, Gun violence, Infertility, Mental illness, Violence, Blood, Medical content, Grief, Medical trauma, Murder, Abandonment, and War
