This is a masterpiece. Dabos is a unique genius, her world building is probably the best I've ever read. The narrator of the audiobook also is amazing I enjoyed this story more than i could if i read it myself. This series is not for the faint of heart, requires dedication and persistance, but its worth everything. I wish there were more ophelia thorn moments.

A satisfying conclusion to the series, but it's not just a wrapping-up of plots: The Storm of Echoes puts Ophelia through more hardships as she explores and suffers through yet another institution in this strange world. As much as Books 1 and 2 felt like a pair, Book 3 and 4 do much the same, elevating the third book somewhat.

There are interesting and sometimes distressing themes introduced, including the deportation of refugees and minorities, forced institutionalisation and medical experimentation - all new to this book, which for a final is very welcome.

As for the ending, it kept me on my toes right to the very finish - I've not read much fantasy for a very long time, and while I think this pretty much played to it's own rules there was a lot introduced in the final half of this book, so I can't honestly say I feel completely happy there was a through-line from the first to the last book... and looking back there are perhaps a few rather convenient coincidences along the way. Still, I highly recommend the series as a whole!

Not as enjoyable as the others. Maybe I'm too tiny brain but the plot thickened a little too much for my tastes. The pacing also felt a little stop and start, with the final few chapters having EVERYTHING and lots of the earlier ones really dragging. Still enjoyed it though!

I hold this series dear to my heart. The concluding novel was complex, adding even more details to the world that haven’t been fully developed in previous novels. This made the material more dense that the others. Initially, I was heartbroken with the ambiguous ending and the loss of some characters. But, after reflecting and reading some reviews, I soon learned that the author’s intention was to have the audience interpret their own ending to Ophelia and Thorn’s story. There are themes of having one’s own destiny and to not let any “creator” take control of one’s life and choices, which is why I think the author (creator) made this ending the way it is. My heartache just shows how close I became to these characters, which is a sign of a great story.

This. Was. The. Best.
omg in love with this series.
I'm in love with Ophelia.
I'm in love with Thorn.
I'm in love with Archibald.
I'm in love with all of the main characters and many "side" characters oh my lord.
It was really good, its clear this book was a bit rushed but tbh I loved it either way.
while I would appreciate seeing ophelia's travel in the end, I don't necessarily think there's a need for another book.
i was so scared to read this last book but in the end it didn't leave me such a bitter taste on my tongue.
I enjoyed this series so much I doubt I'll ever like a book series as much again.
Thank you Christelle Dabos for making me addicted to a tall, grumpy, really blond guy, I didn't really need another obsession to my list but I'm thankful I stumbled upon this series. <3
