So freaking good! Karen Rose is the queen of romantic suspense. The plot of this mystery was so good... Review to come.

I liked Aidan and Tess and how their relationship developed.

The crime that happened in this book was interesting.
SpoilerWhile I didn’t like Amy from the beginning, I didn’t even stop to think that she might be the killer.

I liked most of the side characters, but I wanted to see more scenes where Aidan and Tess interact with their families. Also, I’m curious to see if Rachel will have her own book. Tess and her father were both stubborn, so they share the blame for their relationship, but I didn’t like Tess’ mother. She thought the same way that Tess did and instead of sharing what she found out, she just let Tess stop being part of the family.
SpoilerAlso, I hated her instant reaction when they start suspecting Amy, as she didn’t even stop to think and adding the fact that she kept Amy’s family history secret from everyone, just made me sort of hate her.
I didn’t like Joanna’s character either and I hope that she doesn’t get her own book.

I liked the ending, but the last chapter in this book could have been extended into a few more chapters to show Aidan and Tess’ lives after the events of this book as it felt a bit abrupt, and I wanted to see what would happen with Tess’ career.

This series is great, and I definitely want to continue.

Probably the best I've read of the Karen Rose books so far. I'm trying to read them in order; but the gods of library holds are not with me.

Tess Ciccotelli, a psychiatrist, is being set up to look like she’s played a role in the deaths of her patients. Aidan Reagan, a Chicago police detective, was assigned to the case involving her first patient’s death and soon realizes Tess isn’t to blame. However, he’s having a tough time trying to protect her and her patients when Tess insists on protecting their privacy. And, things get complicated when the relationship between the two gets…well, complicated.

This story was riveting and no one was sacred. I went back and forth throughout the story, trying to figure out who could be the perpetrator. I won’t say much more (this is a mystery) but I ended up being right with my first choice. Tess and Aidan’s romance was sexy and touching but balanced within the story. The crimes were creative and often completely unexpected. It’s an edgy story and it pulls no punches. By the time the story ended, I wasn’t trusting too many of the characters and was making a list of who might be next! This is a page turner and the best in the series to date, which is saying something because they’ve all been great.

Rose continues to distinguish herself as a master storyteller and queen of this genre.

You Can't Hide
4.5 Stars

An intense psychological thriller with an engaging romance.

The mystery is fast paced and engrossing albeit quite disturbing in some respects. Rose has a knack for writing diabolical villains and this is no exception. Nevertheless, it is quite easy to figure out the identity of the culprit if you pay attention to the clues and realize that this type of sadistic sociopathy and hatred can only have an emotional and deeply personal source. For me, the fact that
SpoilerAmy takes an hour to change clothes before coming to Tess's aid at the police station cinched the deal - what kind of best friend does that?

The dynamic between Tess and Aidan is the highlight of the book. Their slow progression from deep seated animosity to understanding and then to love and trust is captivating. Rose's characterization is excellent and she is skilled at evoking the reader's emotions, good or bad, for each and every character.

In sum, You Can't Hide is a chilling addition to an excellent series and I am eager to read the next installment.

Not quite sure how I feel about this one

This is definitely not the best I have read by Karen Rose, and there were times I struggled I still really wanted to finish it as I needed to know the killers identity. It strangely hooks you in
