Wow oh wow. So, I have favorites for each series in this whole family, and this book tied with Lochie and Cait. I feel like each book gets spicier and spicier, which I am here for. Maddox is a cinnamon roll but you mess with the things he cares for, he will attack. Rory definitely guards herself, she’s protective of her mom, willing to do what it takes even if it means her life is on hold.

I can normally pinpoint who is the person targeting in the book, in this case who put 1 million dollars in an account, but this one had me questioning everyone and how they were connected to Rory.

While this was the main point of the book, it was nice seeing these two grow, to truth each other and realize that plans change and what you think is a quick fling can turn into more, that sex may be the original reason, but just being there is real and needed. Loved this book, cannot wait for the next one, especially with the epilogue cliff hanger, I need to know more!

Jolie never disappoints! I absolutely loved this book! I could not put it down! Maddox and Rory have amazing chemistry. This book is everything; love, laughter, tears, and action! Definitely a must read! I love Rory's sass and love of life, and Maddox is that perfect mixture of dominance and genuineness.

The more Jolie Vines books I read, the more I like them. This offered everything I wanted out of a romantic suspense book. While it can be read as a standalone novel I'd recommend reading the other two in this series at least.

Initially I was put off from starting this because I didn't want the conflict of Rory kissing the wrong twin but happily this was not an issue.

The summary puts the betrayal as the main reason of the twins' rift, yet, after two years hating each other, in 5 minutes, it's done, and way too soon.

Maddox feels guilty but does absolutely nothing in order to wait to have a conversation with Max before going ahead with Rory, so the betrayal, yet again, was never the issue.
30 % in, and that part of the book is already over. After watching the twins' relationship deteriorate throughout the previous novels, this really was anticlimatic. They went from total ennemies, not even looking at each other without wanting to commit a murder, to besties in a glimpse.

Rory's egocentric personality doesn't help, unfortunately, because I didn't come to care with what happens to her. She was never really the problem between the twins, but she never really cared. If she really was a friend, she would have waited until she talked to Max, no matter if he was acting like a kid, same as Maddox. It isn't about permission, they are both adults, just a respectful heads up, either he accepts or doesn't, that's Max's problem. But neither Maddox neither Rory were loyal or respectful.

Was hoping for the grovel, for the betrayal resolve, there was none. Pity, really.

I read this book a little out of order.. There are two previous books but I don't feel like I missed anything that would ruin the story. That being said.. Holy Moly did this book deliver! Rory and Maddock sizzle up the pages. Throw in a bunch of action and you've got yourself a great story! Fair warning.. there is a slight cliffy at the end.
