This book was just wow. It switches between the different stories seamlessly and is really easy to follow. It could easily be real with how believable and engaging this story is. The characters were written so well and I was addicted to this book.

It's rare these days that I give 5 stars, but I just can't think of a reason not to give The One full marks.

I just loved the constantly changing narrative voices, the variety of stories and plots held together by just one thread of a premise.

The dates I read this are a bit skewered because I did start it a while ago but then had to stop to jump onto something else. But I read this over about 2 days in the end, in earnest.

Thoroughly enjoyed it.

This book is a modern representation of online dating with a twist, this new website uses DNA to find your perfect match and it's been known to go down really well. The One goes between 5 different characters online experiences and their relationships. Throughout this story I was only ever really interested in one character, Christoper, the rest all had secrets or came upon problems but I was never intrigued in them enough to enjoy the story, even Christophers story at the end fell flat. I was looking forward to this novel as I thought it would be a frightening outlook on online dating and social media but actually, it was just a bunch of stories about people's love lives gone wrong, not something I am interested in personally. - Thank you Netgalley & Del Rey books for a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Human nature written into several love stories. Some known outcomes but lots of twists. The tv series could be very good if they do it right.
