I loved this book. There was enough mystery and intrigue to keep me reading and interested and I loved the setting of an old castle.

This fit the bill perfectly for something just a little bit spooky, and while I was eager to get to the end to see what the customary Kate Morton big twist was... I really didn't like a lot of the characters. Most were kind of awful and maybe that was the point, but it made it a tough hang for me, especially where it felt a little overly long in the first place. Anyway, I didn't hate it but I certainly didn't love it.

My favorite Kate Morton book thus far. Hauntingly beautiful and achingly sad.

I have never struggled to finish a book like I did with the Distant Hours. I think this book was long winded and with no clear direction set for the characters. The story of the three sisters is touching but that's my only positive remark.
