Some of these short stories were absolutely fantastic. Even the mediocre ones had gems in them. Great listen too.

It's hard to figure out a rating/review for anthologies like this as a lot of the stories were 5 Stars, but a handful of ones were not good.
I decided on 4.5 Stars because I really liked that they gave a bio of each author before the story and the majority of the stories were worth the reading.

A fairly mixed bag of well written stories that explore many new angles of the zombie genre. I enjoyed reading this collection but felt the stories were, for the most part, more cerebral than visceral and that meant I was constantly imagining the action like a director realizing a movie rather than a participant living the terror. Curiously interesting, worth reading, but a finger pointing at the ghoul and not the ghoul itself.

As a lover of both anthology series and all things living dead (aka zombies, sorry George!) this book was such a TREAT!

Total unnecessary racism and homophobia in multiple stories.
The ones I listened to the racism and homophobia did not add anything to the storyline at all, except to make me uncomfortable.
If these things were integral to the story and it's characters then fair enough, but it wasn't.

So I did not finish this book.
