I have reviewed the audiobook version of this book. It was so compelling I had to read the book too. The extra information and photographs added more to the story.
My father listened to the book too. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed this harrowing account of the court case.
My review can be found on the audiobook
Superb writing and listening to an excellent narration

The audiobook is outstanding
The narrator brought me through this harrowing story visualising the court room drama with all the implications involved.

I am also reading the written book a little behind the audiobook incase I missed some details but the narrators voice is still predominant.  Every page holds my attention just like the audiobook did.

The contributors Mike Anderson and  Neil Hanson descriptions of court scene complete with characteristics of the judge, lawyers, defendant and witnesses are excellent with the narrator bringing some lightness to the story with his recounting of these details.

The court case is raw with details rooted in the horrors of the Holocaust. I have read a lot of true stories and thought I was prepared but the court case and the fact this is the only war crimes trial in the U.K. really impacted on me. I literally was shaking right to the end.

To discover a non-fiction book which didn’t hold back on the truth of this horrific time give me more than 11th of listening and learning more. I was in despair thinking all recently written books were just ‘romanised’ historical fiction dulling down the facts. This book is far from that. Gruelling and heartbreaking but a book I will remember and one which I will find difficult to replace.
