OH. MY. GOD. THE. ANGST!
I almost didn't survive this one (even though I've read it twice before!) It still hit me with a brick.
The unspoken "I'd do anything for you"
"I'm doing this for you."
"I can't live without you."

All that tension, angst...the feels! My God, it's everywhere. Overwhelming. I was drowning in the never-ending sea of unresolved mutual love and need. This isn't UST, this is something more.

At the same time, I love that both Akihito and Katsuragi know this isn't a story where "love conquers all". There's a bigger picture here, and life isn't a guaranteed delight just because they love each other. Which...HALLELUJAH! They actually do. And they've said it. That bubble was well-and-truly burst, in this volume. Exploding in a gush of warm and fuzzies.

I absolutely loved how Akihito learned how to be a "normal" person - learning how to make tea, how to look after himself. We got to see all of Akihito's scheming on page, and the result of it. I still feel Amamiya can't he trusted. He's obsessively loyal to Katsuragi, but in a creepy way. There's no way he'll do anything for Akihito that isn't to sabotage him, unless Katsuragi tells him to.

What I love more is that they're learning to really communicate with each other. Akihito is opening up about his feelings, his needs, and what he's been doing, while Katsuragi is learning to accept that he has emotions and he can't keep them quiet anymore. If he does, he'll lose Akihito. They're keeping tabs on each other, when separated, and they've accepted what is between them. Now...they need to figure out how to make it work long term.

Best panel: ugh, I had so many of them it was hard to choose. In the end, I went for the ones that nearly made me cry.

For what it's worth, this would be impossible for me to understand if I weren't reading this in one go. It's kind of tricky as it is to keep track of who wants what and is collaborating with whom... this is all kinds of amazing though. I would love to see this as a movie.
