Well seems like the author wants to combine all the genres. I’ve been hooked and Wonder what’s going to happen next... so i guess we are on to the second book.

This is not your everyday book about vampires and werewolves. Sure they cannot stand sunshine (most of them at least). They regenerate. The are strong and fast as hell. They eat iron and shit bullets. But they are not supernatural beasts. Although most of this book reads pretty much as your everyday supernatural vampire story (a pretty good one though) there is a science fiction story lurking underneath. A story that has the promise of making this a very interesting book series.

The story is perhaps a somewhat light kick-ass style action/adventure story but I think it is a good one. I rather quickly started to like the main character a lot. She is a seriously powerful, foul mouthed, kick-ass vampire. She also surrounds herself with equally likable kick-ass characters as the story progresses. Actually, so far, there has been very few characters that I did not like and the ones that were not supposed to be likable, well let us just say that they are either only hinted at and not really presented … yet or they quickly becomes extras in red t-shirts when Bethany Anne gets pissed off with them.

The story? Well it is really difficult to say much about it without revealing to much. This is the first book in the series and there is of course a lot of introduction and world building going on. As I wrote above it shows quite a lot of promise of becoming a great story arc.

I guess I have to say something about the language used. The author is dead on when he states that Bethany Anne has nothing against cussing, only uninspired cussing. I guess that is one of the reasons that I like Bethany Anne. If you care more about which words that are used and not so much about the story then this is not a book for you. Personally I do not care if the author uses words like “fuckface” or whatever as long as it is not done to cover up sloppy writing and in this book it is not as far as I am concerned.

I have already read the second book in the series and started on the third one and I am pretty much hooked on Bethany Anne & Co.

I almost gave this two stars, but I reserve 2 or fewer for unreadable books. This book was merely putdownable. Intriguing side stories for a vampire-centric tale, but nothing could grab my interest for a binge-read. A few quirks in the narrative POV (theoretically 3rd person omniscient, but mid paragraph changes in whose thoughts were being narrated) threw me multiple times. If the next book weren't availible on kindleunlimited, I wouldn't continue this series. As it is, I mostly want to see what happens with TOM's storyline.

I want to start off this review by saying that I LOVE Bethany Anne! She's strong, doesn't take s***, and lives a very interesting life. Also, the plot of the book in and of itself was very interesting in general, a sort of military/paranormal mashup. I am definitely reading book two. I really enjoyed this book. 4 stars! No editing errors either!

And entertaining first book to a series that promises a lot of action. The different take on vampires and werewolves is enough to be interesting while staying similar enough to appeal to fans of the subgenre.

Plots and twists. Starts like a vampire story ends with a semi goddess of vampires after alien intervention. Good read!

. I find this book difficult to rate. I think the author is still learning his craft, a lot of his writing seems rather amateurish. the story does not flow and seems rather jerky. There are some good ideas here things that might interest me more, if the writing had lived up to the story itself. Unfortunately I'm not really invested in any of the characters, so I think I'll pass on the rest of the series.

This is just a shout-out to Michael Anderle and his posse of great authors. Do date I've read forty-eight novels from the universes he has created, (a little over half of what's out there, I think). Many of these were written by authors that Anderle took under his wing. Not all of them are great, but none are bad. Given the sheer number of titles and authors, it is amazing how consistently high the quality has remained. It's also incredible how fast this team manages to publish books. If a fan stuck to reading nothing but the Kurtherian universe, you'd still be considered a BIG reader... at least in the last couple of years.

Well done team. Keep up the good work.
