Decent to get me excited for gardening. But I will read again once I am closer to actually doing it.

Good primer

This is an excellent first book on gardening and farming, but more experienced gardeners (such as myself) might find it lacking in detail at times. I give the author extra props for linking his citations to his bibliography; it also made him a more credible expert.

This was a good, basic overview of gardening practices with lots of simple charts to help you navigate the more difficult aspects like fertilizing and planting schedules, year to year.
Excellent resource for a beginner.

Brett L. Markham writes a solid gardening book. The better parts of this book include good photos, additional bibliography, and cheap alternatives to normally expensive procedures. The downside to this book basically boils down to a different gardening philosophy to the one I currently like most. This book is not for the beginning gardener, but rather for the mini-farmer who wants to become self-sufficient.

Waste of a $7 for me. Everything I wanted to get out of the book was in 2 sentences :(

Some good info

There were some useful bits of information in this book but obviously its intended for people who want to operate on a larger scale than an allotment. Also, it’s a US book so all if the website and store recommendations are useless for the UK, certain other things like measurements and US pests etc.
