Bought this one on a whim because I'm a huge FF fan and I missed this era of their books while I was travelling and in school on one of my many brief hiatuses from monthly comics, and you know what? I hadn't really missed anything after all and probably should have saved $50 by skipping this. This entire volume was missing the most important part of what makes the Four so Fantastic to me - The family togetherness. This is an era in FF history fraught with challenges and one of those is the old trope of the family falling apart again because of lack of communication - You'd think a guy as smart as Reed Richards might be able to finally figure that out, but whatever. In the meantime, Torch is running on a short-fuse that has vast repercussions, Ben gets an injury that makes him uglier, and Sue lashes out by... this can't be right? Sue lashes out and gains her independence by putting on the skimpiest outfit she could find and being rude to everybody? Seriously? All this while Franklin experiences some serious growing pains and Doom makes a bunch of promises his ass will obviously never be able to cash right after an extended interruption of an Infinity War crossover. All of this, and not an ounce of heart in the story. At least there were a ton of cool guest-stars and cameos, though, so that's nice.
