Another very enjoyable tale by Mr. Ward. He weaves Trek and real world history into a fascinating tapestry and ties off the final knot with a nod to Trek future. Great job!

If you liked the episode "Assignment: Earth" you'll probably enjoy this. Much more of a thriller than sci-fi, and predominantly set in the 1980s away from Star Fleet. In fact it felt as if the regular characters were superfluous. The majority of this story is focused away from the crew of the Enterprise and jumps across time and space so be prepared to concentrate. Not for me.

Entertaining enough, but it started to drag in the last hundred pages or so. It started to feel like the author was stretching things out to meet a page count. I have yet to read a GREAT Star Trek book; part of me doesn’t want to try again.
