I rate stories based on how much I enjoy them and I did not enjoy this story.

Now I hate giving bad reviews, like most things in life I've accepted that not everyone likes to same things and some books just are not for me. But I feel like this book goes only one way and its the bad one. Initially when seeing this book on NetGalley I completely ignored the author name, forgetting that I had already read another book by them and absolutely disliked it, the description of this book though pulled me in to read it.

Let me break this down in parts.

Characters- There was no personalization, the dialogue was all the same for all characters. They were at times just names to an action. There was basically no character development and the author did a poor job at making them their own distinct beings. Perhaps the erotica could've been shaved down to accommodate some more personality from Shantay.

Plot- I would like to say that what drew me into this book was the potential I saw with this author but after being hit with the realization of who that was I'm afraid it never stood a chance. Now it is clear to me that this book was hitting the erotica tag and I may not be the biggest fan of it but I like to think I can recognize good erotica and this book just did not do it for me. Alex has sex with about three woman in the first five chapters before she even mentions Shantay's name or talk to her and that absolutely boggles me. The plot was also absolutely boring, it was literally 99% erotica and the 1% what was lackluster profession of feelings on Alex and Shantay's side. Other than that everything else was especially corny.

I know this review may be a bit harsh, probably from my frustration of wasting my time with this book- but I have this thing where I must read the whole book even after regrettably reading half of it. This book did not do it for me and I really can't imagine it doing something for anyone else.

The grammar was fine but more descriptive writing could have saved this book in such a huge way.

Thank you NetGally and the Publishers for the ARC in exchanged for this honest review.

This is a new author for me, I look forward to seeing what is next from her. This is a well written story about a vampire and a human and their relationship. I enjoyed being pulled into the story from the beginning. The characters are connectable and heat up the pages. I enjoyed watching their growth and chemistry throughout the story. They made the story engaging and fast paced. This is a fun, steamy story that was entertaining. Alex is a creature of the night and Shantay is her driver and the only one who knows that she is a vampire. What will happen when they have a threesome and what will happen to their relationship? I really enjoyed their story and what they brought to the pages. I highly recommend this book.
