I enjoy her stories but then I always think they get a bit too far fetched for me. If you are looking for a quick read that doesn’t have the usual storyline of a domestic thriller, I think you’d enjoy this one.

I wish Goodreads would make 2 types of ratings. One from the ones that received a free copy of the book, an ACR, and another one with the rest.

This book was boring and uninteresting and I couldn't really care about any of the characters.

It starts pretty good and then it takes a deep dive. A family in a car, they are stopped by some gangsters and in the process the daughter gets shot. They need to go into witness protection in order to stay alive (the mother, father and remaining child, the son). But here we have chapters and chapters of moaning and bitching about what they have to give up....well okay. Stay where you are and lose another child.

Then they start going on the internet and find out things about their house, business, neighbours, even though they were strictly prohibited to do that.

Then they force the police to talk with a soccer mom who apparently is going to leave no stone unturned and find them. Are you kidding me now?

And then we have the husband transformed into some sort of James Bond, escaping from every situation and being 2 steps ahead of everyone and putting all the pieces of the puzzle together faster than the FBI....

This book was really hard to get through. I had to push myself to finish it. The beginning had pulled my interest but then the book just started to drag. It took near the end to finally start to pick up. After the final climax scene the ending even dragged. It was a meh for me.
