DNF @ pg 146

So don't get me wrong, I've loved this series overall, but there are so many typos it takes me out of the story.
I also think that sometimes the insta-love wasn't realisitc--especially given Violets SA and trafficking history.

(spoilers included) This was good as all the books in this series so far have been. There was just something missing/off for me about it and I’m not sure what it was. I enjoyed Violet’s healing journey and Finn’s role in loving her broken parts as well, but there was something about their story that just felt… toxic (?) even for mafia romance, which is usually steeped in violence and a moral ambiguity. I didn’t love the way the Valen situation was handled either and there were just all sorts of niggling bits I had with this one that I didn’t have with the others. Also how on earth did Violet become such an instantly accomplished assassin having not growing up in the life… I don’t know.. something didn’t jive with this for me. I still enjoyed it as much as I’ve enjoyed this series and I’m still obsessed but this isn’t my favourite in the series so far.

So excited for this installment in the mafia misfits series. Loved getting to learn more about Violet and who she is. Also loved watching these two fall for each other. I will say this book was fast as hell. I feel like, from the first page, it hit the ground running.
