Gobbled this up today. So fast-paced, engaging, fascinating, and great at keeping you on your toes as a reader. I think the idea of alternate realities out there is both scary and incredibly interesting, so to place a thriller and a love story within this idea made the entire book a very enjoyable ride. Can’t wait to watch the show now as well!

I have only just finished the Midnight Library and while both books deal with a similar plot device (multiverse) they couldn’t be more different. Not bad, just different.

Just a few notes: This is much more of a romance than I anticipated. If you are a hard core science based sci-fi fan, I suspect there are a lot of plot/science holes in this book. The explanations in Midnight Library are more philosophical than science in the telling, so it’s easy to overlook the technical. This books dials the science up a little bit more, but I felt there was a lot of suspension of disbelief. All of that being said, it did keep me interested.

I really enjoyed this book!! It was definitely something different which I appreciated! I think going into this sci-fi book with my usual fantasy "just go with it" sort of mindset definitely helped me to get into it more. There were a few main elements of this book that I wouldn't have thought would go well together, but Blake Crouch impressively made everything work without detracting from any one element. I do, however, wish this book had ended on a different note. It wasn't a bad ending, but to me it did feel a bit rushed and I would have liked some more closure.
Favorite quote: "No one tells you it’s all about to change, to be taken away. There’s no proximity alert, no indication that you’re standing on the precipice. And maybe that’s what makes tragedy so tragic. Not just what happens, but how it happens: a sucker punch that comes at you out of nowhere, when you’re least expecting it. No time to flinch or brace."

I have to say. I really enjoyed this book. I also have a hard time remembering what happened. And not in a bad way, the book delves into parallel universes and the threads are all over the place. While deep in the clutches of this book, it's just a wild ride. Crouch has thriller and tension down pat, I enjoyed it. It's a quick read and tells the story it tries to tell. Highly recommend, this might need a second read myself so I can try to digest it all.
