UPDATED REVIEW (12/22/2023):
UPDATED RATING (5 STARS)
Still my favorite from the series the second time around. It's just nice to finally get a backstory and history about the keys and their dad and all.
I also feel so bad for Dodge. He seemed like the nicest of all of them before he was possessed! Poor guy.
Now I finally get to move on to the conclusion, which I never got around to ten years ago! lol
P.S. Fun fact! As I was looking at my read dates for this I realized that I literally read this exactly ten years ago to the same date! That's crazy! And totally not planned on my part! Weird...

ORIGINAL REVIEW (12/22/2013):
ORIGINAL RATING (5 STARS)
Best volume in the series so far! This entire volume pretty much consists of going back in time and finally getting an explanation about what happened with their dad, Luke/Zack and the other kids in 1988 (I believe that was the year). This is the story we've all been waiting for and it was really good.
In a lot of ways I seriously feel so, so bad for Luke/Zack now. He seemed like such a sweet guy until the demon thing took hold of him. It's really too bad, and to learn that it was really all their dad's fault. Wow, what a blow.
I'm actually really sad that the next volume is the last volume because I've enjoyed this series a lot. But, I'm excited to see how it wraps up. Too bad I have to wait until February! :(

I was sceptical about the 18th hundred part which took so long, seemed more like a filler than I proper part of the story, but it turned out nicely. It's horribly sad how weird the characters acted, but it was again very engaging.
tiny spoiler? - It was nice to see The Tempest again, at the first time I really didn't realized they had the help of the keys.
It's a shame it hit Luke and it's a shame that Erin had to end like that. Why wouldn't she be able to make new memories to fill her head? Her head wasn't completely empty, so why make this happen to her?
