So overall this story wasn’t bad but there was sooooo much not communicating on everyone’s part and it really dragged the story out longer.

I really liked Jagger and Callie’s relationship though. There was no breakup in the real scheme of things, she had a few days where he didn’t get a chance to get back to her to explain things in full and then once he DID she ghosted him instead of listening to him. This is a very high school attitude not 22 year old college graduate attitude.

Once they were together and solidly working on communicating on everything they progressed really nicely.

The narrator for this,Meghan Styles, has a lovely voice and did a great job. I would not mind listening to something else she does in the future

The Never Date Series..... I read them a while ago and I can honestly say I remember a few characters (Jaeger - MMC - being one of them), that were steamy but sadly.....barely any plot points. That said I tore through all of them so I did enjoy them. They just weren't books that had staying power for me.

Every time I read a modern romance, I’m reminded why I don’t love modern romance. I’m also reminded why omnipresent narrators win the day over obsessive self reflective heroines. Don’t get me wrong, my own inner dialogue sounds that ridiculous. I just don’t need to read someone else’s.

There are a few other things in this book I was not stoked about :

- several blatant instances of fat shaming

- a heroine who makes such terrible choices it’s difficult to root for her

- the introduction of the current but soon to be ex boyfriend who really didn’t need to be in the story at all

- a hero who was a little one dementional and too perfect. I mean, I love a guy who’s got his shit together, but making him rich, an artist, good in bed, not from a dysfunctional family, and a good chef was a bit much.

- the constant lack of communication (between the hero and heroine, heroine and best friend, heroine and brother)

- rampant jealousy leading to BIG MISUNDERSTANDINGS

there are few things I liked about this book:

- the writing was of decent quality and the pacing was great

- the story had some surprising twists even if there was a lot of blatant smack me in the face foreshadowing
SpoilerI mean for Pete’s sakes woman he clearly carved the wooden door

- it showed a pretty well rounded sibling relationship

I am unlikely to read another in this series.

I thought this book was going well until like last quarter of the book. I feel like the author added a bunch of useless problems. If the author would've left those out, the book would be cute and nice way to get through the work day. I've seen quite a few reviews that said the addition of all these "angsty" problems weren't it for them. This read like a Wattpad novel, and no matter how much I wanted to, I hated the FMC. She was stupid, all over the place, and part of me wishes
Spoiler she would've overdosed when she got drugged because I was tired of reading her POV

I will not be continuing with the series, but I'm happy that some people got some enjoyment out of the book.

I'm a sucker for an author who can make me fall in love with the characters... This book was NOT that.

Cute romcom. Some unexpected twist and some very predictable. All and all very good light read.

I like to listen to cute romance books on my travels in the car, Never Date Your Brother's Best Friend was a great one for that. I will most likely add the rest in the series to my list of audiobooks in the future. After a breakup and losing her job, Cali meets Jaeger at her new workplace, and doesn't realize she knows him from her past. With some drama and a few left turns, their paths will finally collide.
