Another Amazon first reads selection. Why do I enjoy these books?
I can list more things that I dislike, yet I still devour them.

-self centered main characters. I get that the story has to have a focus, but can we get an update on the friends? At one point they mentioned that one of the friends hadn't been as responsive recently. Maybe she has her own problems and interests, and the main character never asks about HER life. The friends are only there to be a sounding board and support. Typically, most books like this will at some point have this surface as another conflict (see point 3), which is also formulaic and annoying.

-shallow character development. How much do we really learn about these people? That they're nice, funny, good looking, clumsy, love animals?

-manufactured conflict and misunderstanding. Although this book is better in that the main character actually says much of what she's thinking.

-predictability. Although this can also be a positive, and may explain why I do enjoy these types of novels. That fact that you know everything is going to work out in the end leads to stress free reading.

Very pleasant, romantic read. I really enjoyed the cute storyline, and it was a perfect novel to read during these last couple of days. I appreciated the friendship elements present between several characters. The end left me smiling. ☺️

Fine but unremarkable enough that I can’t figure out what to write in this review that I’m writing a week and a half later.

i honestly wasn’t expecting much when i started this but omg i loved it!

madison has my heart completely. her interactions with everyone (except her mom and brad) in this book made my heart flutter. i especially love reading about her and pigeon. the way pigeon got comfortable with her in just a short amount of time is a testament to how lovely she is as a person.

This is the first book I've read from this author so I wasn't sure what to expect. The writing way okay but I guess this book really made me realize how much I appreciate a dual pov in romances (which this book sorely needed). Not knowing anything about the male lead tyler, except that he was attractive, really made me struggle to connect with his character. I just don't believe in the relationship tbh. The characters overall seemed a bit boring and it was pretty unrealistic that Madison didn't know ANYTHING about cleaning.. I can overlook that generally if the characters and plot are interesting enough and in this case they just weren't.

I'm rating 2 stars because although I had some issues, overall it was a cute and light read. Also the narrator on the audio version was frustrating... whenever she spoke Tyler's dialog she just used a funny voice and I desperately wished they had a male narrate those lines. After a while it took me out of the story a little.

I thought this was adorable! Although I couldn’t relate to Madison on a lifestyle or financial level, I could see similarities if family relationships. Her parents were extreme, but I’ve dealt with scaled down, similar situations. I really liked Tyler. Where can I get me one of these? Haha. I like how organic their relationship was, although I feel like the ending was slightly rushed & a bit cheesy. I especially loved how Tyler treated Pidge! It was so sweet! I think I’d totally live in an upscale apartment for free if all I had to do was the cleaning!
