I wish it would have been less about sex and more about her self destructive behavior, I would have loved to know a little bit more about her, instead it feel like a very flat written character. but overall i’m a big fan of dark, twisted and repulsive characters with grotesque mindsets so I enjoyed that a lot.

I was drawn into this book largely by the cover, and secondly by the premise of a messy young woman entering into a 3-way relationship with an already established couple.

I didn't like the protagonist at all. She was unlikeable, selfish and self-destructive, but not in a fun, morally grey way where you secretly root for her. She was so toxic and I could not warm to her at all.

There was some good eroticism and sexual tension with Matt but I felt it skipped over most of it, and I was left wondering what the point of this book is. Or is that the point??? She's probably not going to change and this is just a slice-of-life story into her selfish cycles. Either way it felt a bit too short and only scratched the surface of what it could have.

Spelling mistakes and continuity errors that were very distracting.

The same character’s living accommodation is described at different points as a house, a basement apartment, and inside an apartment complex. The author clearly forgot how she’d set her scene originally.

The story is ok. The characters are unlikable (fine), but even unlikable characters with flawed morals who do terrible things have to have something going for them.
I just didn’t care about Lilith. She’s meant to be 19 but her narrative voice is much older. Not in a stylistic way (one of the core themes of this novella is that Lilith is naive and ignorant), it’s just the author’s own narrative voice permeating. She doesn’t know how to write a teenager.

Bafflingly, the author inserts a scene of Lilith in the future, alive and well. This is the only flash forward in the entire book. Throughout the book Lilith is in threatening situations involving a dangerous man, drugs, and the potential for self harm or even suicide. But there is zero tension because of this one random scene set in the future letting the reader know that there is no actual threat.

As a whole it felt flat and any redeeming features were offset but the glaring spelling mistakes and poor continuity. At one point Lilith turns into a pirate putting something into “me handbag” lol. This book needed a much better editor.
