So this trained ninja's husband and baby are murdered and she spends the novel tracking down the killers only to find a bigger scandal in the works. It's kind of bizarre that this woman who gave birth seemingly just a short while ago is already back in fighting shape and ready to rumble. Never mind all the very convenient familial connections she has at her fingertips. Never mind that she seems entirely void of emotion over the death of her family. However unbelievable the story line, though, I did like this book. It was very Punisher-esque.

It was a quick read, plot flowed nicely. I would probably pick up the sequel just to see what happens between her and her new frenemy Naff.

This was probably closer to a 2.5 for me, but I’m rounding up. This book just did not vibe for me-I’m not sure if it was the pacing or just that so much was crammed in. It seemed like there was no part in this book that wasn’t intense or a high, it read to me like an over the top action movie. The story was okay; some parts seemed egregious, meant to move the story along and give Harper something to chase, but they seemed so cheesey predictable.
