Best supernatural book to start the spooky season off. I loved this story and it's plot. I loved the chemistry, and I really liked how it went back and forth in the exposition. You get character growth, and you get a badass female lead. There are questions left unanswered, but that's why I can't wait for the next novel!

The idea of the bracelet being debts was cool (that's all I've enjoyed so far) but... Callie has no personality when she's with Desmond and literally her entire life is dropped as soon as he shows back up after seven years, she dumps her boyfriend, near ghosts her best friend, and quits her job. I cannot make this shit up, folks. Oh, and it all gets papered over with my least favorite trope: "mates." This is just so many things I personally do not enjoy in one book and mileage my definitely vary here. *sigh* The Bookish Box editions are so damn pretty though, I want to like it so I can justify keeping them on my shelves but I do not. Still, uhhh, maybe it'll improve with the next book that I unfortunately already own now? *fingers and toes crossed*

*AUDIOBOOK & EBOOK*
Based on other reviews, my expectations were low, but I was impressed by this book. Once hooked, I couldn't put it down.
I loved the slow burn, rebudding romance. I enjoyed how the book shifted from present to past, it helped build my love for the couple. The night of the dance pulled on my heart. I love their passion. The mysteries around the "dead" ladies and the possessed children were a little too freaky for my normal preference, but I kept reading.
I will keep reading it. It's a fast book.

Mesmerizing in every way. Literally couldn't put it down. My heart was racing and just feeling so at home reading this and connecting with the characters.
