It was okay

I wanted to like this. There was so much promise and while I liked the first 20%, the rest of the book just dragged on. And there was something about the dialog that just felt a little off.

We are really in deep trenches with modern contempo romance . Every single time this happens . Too many plot holes . Cringy characters . Meh writing . Everything doesn't make sense anymore.

Poor, poor Esme.

I cried for Esme. Reading her story just broke my heart. The ending was predictable but I am glad it worked out in the end. I wish we could have seen Esme's Dad's reaction in the end.

I do not like Declan. This book made me so mad because why did Esme have to grovel after her one mistake. Declan was horrible to her in the beginning, and we barely saw him apologize or makeup for how he belittled her.
