Clearly written. Less ego than other SOF memoirs.

Really enjoyed this book. Owen talks about the process of becoming a member of his SEAL team as well as details of operations he participated in, including the raid that killed Bin Laden.

This book is better described as a report of this mission, told in first person, rather than a firsthand account. The author accurately (as he many times reminds his audience) of the events which led to and included the assassination of Osama Bin Laden, but leaves out the motivations behind this mission, looking down on the Washington politicians who ordered it and heaping praise on the actual executors. While the emotions and trials are reported (again, accurately, lest the reader doubt), they are not conveyed. This man is a military man, not a born writer. His love of firearms and total belief in his worldview and humility have served to remind me that I am increasingly becoming an inflamed liberal who questions the necessity of war and the the expectations of unquestioning loyalty.

This was a well-written story about the take down of Bin Laden that I found engaging and interesting. There was some language, but for a book written by a former military guy, it wasn't as bad as others I've read.
