This came highly recommended to me, but I found it really underwhelming. I didn't really feel a point to any of it, and everything felt rather predictable.

I personally love dark and unhinged female characters, but this character lacked depth. Everything felt overdone and shallow, and the ending (which I saw coming from very early on) was so rushed, but it made me grateful because it meant it was the end.

This book was like a fever dream. I did not know what was going to happen next and the direction of the story. Loved it.

I didn’t find the humor in this and it was so unrealistic, yes I get it’s fiction, but come on. I kept waiting for there to be a point, some added plot, but there was none. I really thought I’d love this so I’m a little disappointed. I did enjoy the first half, but it just fell off for me.

This was a grueling read with a detestable main character and disgusting events. I could barely put it down. I found it well written, stuffed (over-stuffed?) with references and connections to other works so the themes were always exploding outwards in many directions. Honestly not sure how sincerely I should take
the inner peace at the end as a sign of redemption
but I found it to be pretty satisfactory. I feel like this demands a reread but I'll have to muster up some major fortitude before I can attempt it. I read the back 2/3 in quarantine which definitely contributed to the atmosphere, Would recommend if you have COVID.
