The most wholesome, adorable tale I've read in a long time. I think this healed something I didn't know needed fixing.

...and I also now need to adopt a tea dragon asap xo

“Memories don't just live inside you, Minette. They live in all the people and objects you share your life with.”

The short but sweet story follows Greta, a blacksmith apprentice, who discovers the wonder of tea dragons after finding one lost in the marketplace. Learning from tea shop owners Hesekiel and Erik, Greta finds herself enchanted by the little dragons. Greta also develops a wonderful friendship with Minette, a mystery girl who struggles to remember.

The book in wonderfully inclusive, with people of colour, LGBTQIA+ characters and characters with disabilities.

The illustrations are simply stunning and so so immersive. Everything felt so whimsical and magical and somewhere I could return to over and over. The story itself was also a pleasure. Friendship, building and nurturing community, honouring the past while also being in control of your future and creating a fulfilling life for yourself. The whole premise of the tea dragons had my heart the minute I started reading and I loved learning about all the different types of dragons (as a tea lover this just ticked all my boxes honestly).

I also really enjoyed the format of the story - broken down into seasons rather than traditional chapters. A small detail but it felt very fitting for this story and added to the immersion.

The handbook at the end of the story actually tipped me over the edge and made me sad this world isn't real. The attention to detail makes the story even more beautiful.

I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who needs a boost of serotonin ✨

Such a wholesome, adorable read!

The tea dragons are such a cute concept. And I also loved the little write up of each one at the end of the book. The illustrations were so beautiful and so were the characters. I will definitely be reading this over and over just to take in the beauty of the pictures!
