I ended up really liking this one's story, but it felt super difficult to get into at first. Pieces of Her really starts to shine in the second half, after a beginning that feels scattered and confused. Don't get me wrong, I'm probably the bookkeeper for the Karin Slaughter fan club in another universe. It just took a while for this book to find its footing and get to the heart of a story that is both devastating and wildly interesting.

3.5, three felt too harsh. Classic Karin Slaughter enjoyable read. I was less invested in these characters than I have been in some of her other ones, hence the lower rating.

It was slow to get into and personally I’m not a fan of crime books but once I got into it I really enjoyed it the only part I didn’t like is when they went back in time every two chapters I just skipped them but even though I skipped them I still got how the book ended so I thought they were unnecessary

I really enjoy this author and it kept me hooked pretty much from beginning to end. I loved seeing the characters grow and the perspectives shift. I also enjoyed the back and forth of past and present. Another great thriller that I would recommend.

A very compelling and entertaining page turner full of drama and violence, however I felt like it was just a little too long.
