*4.5**Very cute! There were some points that I felt I needed to just get through but they didn’t last long. I can appreciate a story about a middle aged couple with a healthy sex drive but also a mature appreciation for the intimacy. It also shows the indecisiveness that still occurs as you get older, but the thoughtfulness that is included to overcome doubt or mistrust.

I also have a real appreciation for Jasmine Guillory, most of her books are hits to me

Expanding in the Jasmine Guillory Wedding Date universe, we are focusing on Maddie's mom this time around: Vivian Forest. Maddie gets an opportunity to work fo the Duchess in England over Christmas break and invites her mother along. Vivian joins and meets a stunning member of the queen's staff: Malcom Hudson. The two hit it off and navigate the ups and downs of a vacation (and potentially long distance) relationship.

For me, this was lacking the usual subplots that I love in Jasmine Guillory's books. HOWEVER, I did almost tear up during some of the Vivian/Malcom interactions, and loved reading from an older perspective of a MC in this universe.

I would definitely recommend. I feel like you could read this one at any time, but reading this series in order does help. Others in the series don't have as much flexibility as Royal Holiday does to me.

To be honest this book was too mushy feely for me.. if you know what I'm saying. Its a cute little love story, being honest I think it's the first romance book I have read with an older couple..but Im not sure if Im just in the mood for a thriller suspense right now, but it was a fast read and it had its squish your cheeks cute moments. It didn't have any (gasp) moments, no drama.. just straight forward. If your into the cute romantic non drama love at first sight books, you might enjoy this one.

I quite liked some of the earlier books in this series, but this one just didn't do it for me. I enjoyed the representation of older people having a romance, but I found Malcolm and Vivian to both be extremely flat, missing that spark that would make me care about them. I've been less enthused about this series as time goes on, and I think this is the sign that it's time to move on.
