I love good character development, and this one delivered. It was easy to see how something like this could get started, and it was fun to uncover the little bits of each person's back story that caused them to react as they did.

This is the second book I have attempted to read by this author. I say this because the first book I found uninteresting and unforgettable. Yet, this time I was super hyped to check this book out. I forgot about the past. This book was a let down to me.

There was nothing appealing about either Miranda or Dawn. Both women came off as childish. In fact, I don't think that either one was coming out on top as the winner. The author tried to make me the reader feel for each woman by providing me details about their lives. This may have worked if most of the alternating chapters were not focused on the mud slinging. The obsession was getting out of hand. For example when Dawn was being pleasured by her husband and she is talking about Miranda. Dawn finally realizes in that situation that she was focusing too much on Miranda that she decides that her and her husband are going to have sex and so she jumps on top of him to ride him like a stag. I thought this book would get better for me, thus I kept reading. I could only get to chapter 20 before I could no longer stand Miranda and Dawn.

Loved the cover, the audiobook, the narrators, the author, and the book!

Need to pass this along to all my hotel clients (and guests). Being in the business-- this is like "everyday reality madness" with reviews and social media-- in the hotel and vacation rental business. Yes, it really happens, and could add even more horror stories to this. . . . .

Lots of humor and great one-liners. Made my day while plowing through work!. Designing websites this week. Behind on my reading and writing reviews. Review to follow!

Dawn rents vacation home from homeowner Miranda, has a great vacation with her husband and goes home. That should be the end, right? Not between Dawn and Miranda. When Dawn doesn't receive her deposit back because of a stained sheet she writes a scathing review online about her stay in Miranda's rental. Miranda not one to take matters lightly responds in kind. What should be an average complaint and response starts off a set of alarming events that prove how quickly things can escalate when we are so determined to defend ourselves just to prove a point. A story about two totally different women, each with a score to settle.
A fast paced suspense that just roller coast rides from one page to the next. How far would you go to prove you're right?

This was a good read. It really made you want to find out what happens. It shows a spotlight on how petty we all can be, and how tightly we can hang on when we think we are right. But I felt like the end was rushed. 3.5/5 stars

Check out the full review at Kritters Ramblings

Two women, one owns a home and rents it out like AirBnB and the other woman is the one who rented it - a dispute happens and it spirals from there. Both women get a chance to tell their side of the story in alternating chapters and I would say the moral of the story is, you just don't know what is going on in another person's life.

Miranda is a doctor's wife and being seen as the perfect doctor's wife and family means everything to her, even enough to lie to everyone close to her to keep it up. Dawn is hiding a hurtful past from those closest to her and maybe isn't her true self even in her own home. They end up meeting and interacting and eventually combusting!

Listened for Fun (Audible)
Overall Rating: 3.25
Story Rating: 3.50
Character Rating: 3.00

Audio Rating: 4.50 (not part of the overall rating)

Quick Thoughts: This is a hard book for me to review. I listened to it in one day but there were points I thought about DNFing it. The characters really were hard to take and I think they were supposed to be. I couldn't sympathize with either of them (even at the end). That being said, the idea that a negative review could lead to this kind of thing absolutely made sense to me. In that essence, the characters were spot on. It would take two incredibly narcissistic people to take it as far as these two did. Did I like the book? Hard to say. Did I find it fascinating? At times. Would I recommend it? Maybe it would depend on the reader.

Audio Thoughts:
Narrated by: Madeleine Maby , Donna Postel /Length: 11 hrs and 15 mins

The narrators nailed this. I honestly think I stuck with the book because of how well they did. They really brought out every little thing about the characters. This was great audiobook casting.
