I downloaded this book for free on amazon so I gave it a chance. I actually hate leaving a bad review but here it goes:
It was really predictable and the main character acted like a 15 year old. I hated how she kept calling him "Professor Hunter", it was pretty annoying.
I also hated how she used Tyler.
Insta-love is usually an issue for me and this book was no different. They became in love with each other too soon and that was cringe worthy.
"Proffesor Hunter" made me uncomfortable at times and I became worried about the controlling relationship aspect that was never addressed as a negative thing in this book. In my opinion the relationship was toxic.
There were many things that bothered me about this book but I have to say that it actually kept me interested and I didn't think about not finishing it more than two or three times š
I'm not sure about reading the next one. The story that I have in my head is probably better than the real thing.
Ps: why does he have to be rich?

2.5 stars. I really wanted to love this book/series because it had so many great reviews but this was not for me. There were a lot of cringy moments along with the immaturity from Penny and I had to force myself through it. Also, Pennyās roommate was too much for me. She was very selfish and way too dominating. I thought there were some good spicy scenes but even that would get awkward because she insisted on calling him Professor Hunter. I also did not like that there was attempted SA and we just gloss right over that. āHe really is such a sweet guy.ā Gross. Not sweet when someone tries to force themselves on you.

If I could give half a star I would. I am not a reader of romance novels but as part of a book group we were asked to read a book from the romance genre to expand our horizons...well I'd like to keep my horizons away from this sort of romance. I mean I've read romance but this is the likes of Fifty Shades of Grey and quite horribly done. Seems to be written for the shock value, which is not that shocking if you enjoy more than one position in the room!
Penny is a collage student in her sophomore year who accidentally bumps into her professor, at which point she did not realize was her professor, and then sees him at her first class that day. Of course it's a senior class but Penny being the overachiever has decided to take it on early. A romance ensues with lots of public and private sex where they are almost caught. In this time she realizes Professor Hunter is holding secrets about his millionaire past...which of course one does as he is a professor and not her friend...and when Penny realizes the secret she decides to try and sleep with her "best friend" who is a guy who at the beginning of the story sexually assaults her!! Why!! Why would you even become best friends with a guy who obviously has ulterior motives for being your friend...which he admits to.
Ugh, this book was just horrible. The weakness Penny exudes is all blamed on her feminine naivety and inexperience. I really struggled finishing this book and skimmed most of the story. Oh and the cherry on top...Penny has been withholding her age to the professor...ummmm ok?!....and when he finds out she's 3 years younger than he thought he's out! He's ghosting her and that's how the story ends...."will Professor Hunter ever forgive her"....really....is this what people like?
I literally gave this the old college try...pun intended...but will not ever read another book like this.

ā¦what the hell. I saw it was highly rated, and itās constantly being recommended on Amazon so I figured might as well since it was via Kindle Unlimited.
Iād like my 3 hours back. I ended up skimming through because by the halfway mark I could tell it wasnāt going to get any better.
Immature and naive 19yo, has had one sexual partner and only a few times, yet sheās rubbing up on her ex, a new guy, and the male main character all in the space of one week? Her personality and shy behavior doesnāt at all fit with the sexual dynamo she is written as being with James or Tyler. It makes zero sense.
Ugh and the guys. Why. Tyler tried to RAPE her and sheās still making out with him later because heās so hot!? James is her professor. Thatās just a big no.

Iād rate this book 10 stars if I could! Iām an avid reader of romance novels, itās all I read but this is probably my favorite that Iāve read ever! So good, so intriguing. I couldnāt put it down! I was definitely sad when it was over, Iām patiently waiting for book #2 to come in the mail. Penny is relatable and sweet, you feel her all her emotions. Canāt wait to read the rest of the series!!

I wanted to like this
Sexy, young professor meets sexy but green student. Fiesty best friend and smoking hot, age appropriate potential love interest.
But I couldn't stand the characters. The only one with any redeeming qualities is Tyler. Penny is 19 but still basically a child latching on to anyone that pays her a smidge of attention. James is brooding and arrogant. And Melissa... What a pushy, rude person. No means no. Damn.
I'm not sure I want to read the other books if they are as painful to get through as this one was. .5 a star for the spice because even that was lacking.
