ML is escaped felon hitchhiker and FL is prim proper girl who is getting abused by husband. She picks him up from the side of the road and he carjacks and kidnaps FL. Boy oh boy, it was barely a romance i will say. ML and FL do not know what love is and cling to each other. It is very crazy, and had some unexpected kinks in here. life be wild sometimes.

I listened to this book as an audiobook and I am genuinely ashamed of myself for listening to as much of it as I did. It was a weird and disgusting book and it made me never want to read smut again, despite the fact that most smut books are (hopefully) not this cringey. It wasn’t even just cringey though, it was also disgustingly problematic and misogynistic, despite being written by a female.

This book had a lot going on for it, I felt a disconnect with the characters though.

Lex is very hot and cold. He likes Selena but keeps pushing her away every chance he gets, especially during a hard time.

Selena is describe as meek and innocent. She is until Lex corrupts her. I feel like people are half and half. It just seemed like it would take people a lot longer if not at all to become a killer.

She all of a sudden, starts killing with Lex. Like really?!?

I found the plot lacking, quite a lot of spice but not enough depth.

If you’re new to dark romance buckle up because this trip is not for the faint of heart. It was the best of dark romance mixed with the vibe of the movie Joyride. I loved everything about it. The tension, the danger it’s so palpable it definitely gets your heart and everything else racing in the best way possible. Lex is the epitome of a twenty five foot tall red flag and did I mention one of my favorite colors is red? I love how Lex helps Selena to break herself out of her cage and Joe she humanizes him. I didn’t want their story to end!!!
