I loved the idea of this. It had potential, but wasn't executed well. The story started off good, but the climax came 50% in and went downhill quickly. It turned into continous back and forth arguing about parting ways and leaving each other. Felt juvenile.
Too. Much. Sex. I honestly skimmed a lot of it because I was like... they're doing it again???
Bleh.

Fun time just not the tropes I enjoy. I'll pretty much read anything by Lauren Biel because she's absolutely unhinged.
Three stars because I don't think grown men should be blonde.

Was very skeptical about this book due to its ratings. Glad I decided to read it anyway. Picking up a hitchhiker is crazy just to think about. But finding out he’s a murderer and forces you to have orgasms. WTH FMC is a DV survivor and quickly become Stockholm syndrome. But spicy and quick easy read.

3.5 | The plot is barely there. It starts off normally, some kind of murdering convict hijacks a ride from an innocent looking young woman and then they do the hanky-panky and she starts to make him feel again or something. Then he helps her with revenge against her abuser. All of this happens in the first half of the book so I found myself thinking, where could this go from here? I mean they leave the crime scene together and look for a place to live together but that could have been part of the “they lives HEA and roam place to place together” like you can fill in the blank yourself. The second half was mostly them looking for someplace secluded to avoid cops, him being like “I love her but I don’t want to drag her into darkness, she should leave me” and she’s like “I’ve beeeent dark, stop treating me like a child, I love you you idiot, you make me feel safe” so yeah its just more

Just like the first book in this series, it’s dark. But somehow darker because there seems to be more non-con (not CNC) in this book and that’s not great. None of the characters are all that like-able, from Lex to Selena and even her husband. Lex threatens to kill her a bunch of times and then keeps telling her to leave and she stays. If you like dark and twisted storylines then this is for you.
