I love a book with a good ending and this was one of them. Very detailed and interesting to read.

It's not often, these days, that I will read a book practically non-stop but I did that with this one. Karen Dionne has a talent for telling an interesting story while filling it with the seriously creepy. If you haven't read her first book, THE MARSH KING'S DAUGHTER, you should do so.

Rachel has spend 15 years in a mental health facility after she believed she had shot her mother as a child.
Chapters switch between Rachel and her mother, past and present, family secrets are revealed and all is not as it seems.
Rachel checks out of the facility and to the place where she was raised - in search of answers - what happened to her mother?
This was such an intriguing book, with so many heart in your throat moments - read it now!

Neither good nor bad, but I would say that it is leaning more towards the bad side (if I had to choose).

I really wanted to like this one, but just couldn’t. It was way too predictable. I kept waiting for some surprise twist, but nope. There was none
The mom blaming the aunt for doing a horrible job watching the girls, she isn’t the parent. Maybe she should question why she spends all her time chasing bears in the woods instead of watching her kids.
