loved it. This was like revisiting an old Agatha Christie book but with hot mm loving. Wish this was a series.

short one, yet chock full of shenanigans.
in the end, the characters grew on me 😌 they both were quite insufferable in the beginning, both annoying each other which in turn annoyed the hell out of me, but it became sort of charming the more i read on. daniel da silva and archie curtis, i've grown quite fond of you 🫶
some things this book included were: mysteries, trying to unearth a crime operation, shocking reveals, wlw/mlm solidarity, lesbians with guns, killing of evil guys, vulnerable conversations, plethora of sex scenes, and an overall good time!

I mean, at this point I'm just gonna read all of K.J. Charles books. I think the only problem I had with this one was that the French translation lacked a little.
Shall I add was so captivated I read this book in two days?

Why is KJ Charles so good at what she does?! This book was exactly what I was in the mood for and I binged it in a day. No regrets. I love Curtis and Daniel 🥹 Intriguing but not overcomplicated plot, a great relationship to root for, and we get to see the girls from Proper English again. Similar themes to her other books, as this also features a traumatized soldier trying to find purpose/meaning after leaving the military.

10/10 very thoroughly enjoyed this one.

One of my favourite reading experiences in a long time. Charles writes complex characters with nuanced relationships to their own sexuality that feel grounded in the set time period. Well paced and quite sexy at points. The characters felt really fleshed out. Curtis was grappling with his identity and had to grow a lot in response to challenge from DaSilva. Really enjoyable read.
