Too many and too in depth descriptions. The number of times shiplap is mentioned is annoying. It gets to the point where the mmc and the mfc each described the same room/place during their POV chapters.
Kind of immature. Mfc has had three concussions in a year, which can be really serious. But they’re more like convenient plot devices, like on tv when someone is knocked unconscious for the exact right amount of time and wakes up perfectly okay. And then Griffin credits Ren with “setting him free” from his grief over the loss of his wife, but in the beginning of the book he described how he’d gotten to the other side of his grief. It’s over the top dramatic.
The ending is literally a plug for the next book. A really anticlimactic HFN.
TW/CW: death of a spouse in the first 15 pages. Occurs off page, but the phone call alerting Griffin occurs on page, then it skips two years.

What a fun small town romance! I really enjoyed to progression of Griffin and Ren’s relationship from friends to lovers. I loved the dynamics between Griffin and his siblings. Would recommend for a quick fun read!
