I was super excited to read this story — the synopsis made it sound like the angsty book of my dreams — but it ended up falling a bit flat for me (unfortunately). :(

I wish that this book had been longer — and that Frankie + Arlo had more of a slow burn romance where we got to see them pine for one another for a little while longer before getting together.

I think that it’s difficult to tackle a book with this subject matter in under 300 pages. I just wanted more. Others who aren’t fans of slow burn romances might feel differently though!

I very much enjoyed this second chance romance narrated by Zachary Johnson and Jacob Morgan.  This story was heartbreaking and beautiful.  I loved these two coming together their friendship and love was raw and eternal.  I wanted some more details from their story, I was enjoying them so much I wanted to spend more time with them.  Zachary Johnson is a very passionate narrator and his performance made me feel the hurt and pain that Frankie was feeling.  There were a few times where his narration was a bit louder than I felt the scene called for, but overall I very much enjoyed his performance.  Jacob Morgan was amazing as always bringing Arlo's trauma and addiction to my ears.
