I can't wait to read the next volume and see how the views of my younger self differs from my views of the series now

This was perfectly fine! It wasn’t an immediate new favorite, but it was exactly what I needed when I picked it up.
Is the art not quite my style because it’s older? Sure. Were there some cringe moments expected of the time this was written? Yes.
But, overall, this was a nice story. I liked that our main character was assertive. She didn’t always stand up to her bullies, but she made herself heard when it mattered. I also like that she was willing to seek help when she was scared and needed it.
The love interest is…somewhat chaotic. He has good intentions but I’m not a huge fan of the way he typically approaches kissing the protagonist.
All in all, I’ll probably read the second volume to decide if I want to continue with this series.
P.S. The guy with the boob obsession was really getting on my nerves 💀 At least he already showed some signs of growth in this volume
