A lot of great idea to try to carve some time out for creative expression.

There are some good ideas in this book, but as someone who spends the better part of their work week on meetings and talking to people I would like to spend less time around them in my off-hours… there are other ways to contribute and create without being an extrovert…

DNF. This book is an obvious money grab. It's the same information Rodsky shared in her book fair play, just said in more words with no added substance. And since her idea of a unicorn space is necessarily ultra-specific for each person, this book is very vague and not practical.

DNF'd over halfway through because I'm just not the target audience for this. I'm 25, not a mom, don't really have trouble finding unicorn space at this point in my life, and live with a partner who does most of the things described in the book without my asking. Still marking this so I can remember to come back to it in 5-10 years if I feel like it's a better fit for me then. It did help me understand the value of the unicorn space I already have and why I need to keep it a priority at all stages in life. I'm not sure this book is as inclusive or all-encompassing as the author wants it to be, though. This feels like a book written by and for middle-upper class straight cis women with mediocre-but-not-abusive husbands.
