I really like this book, its mindbending form reminds me so much of House of Leaves! Sometimes it went a bit over my head. Also towards the end it increasingly involved a lot of gross sexual depiction and assault, which I really dislike.

Very interesting in terms of what it's trying to do, the structure of it all, the philosophy of stories, reading and writing. Would be more enjoyable if it was normal about women. The characters were a bit too unlikeable for me, though I don't think that necessarily detracts from the aims of this novel.

This isn't a story so much as a mediation on why we write stories and how they are consumed. Strangely prescient in the age of AI as it ruminates on plagiarism, automated reading, and the publishing industry. A product of its time in terms of misogyny etc, and frustrating when it jumps from story to story, but definitely an unforgettable treatise on the adventure of reading
Moderate: Rape and War

I loved the experience of reading this knowing absolutely nothing beforehand. There’s some questionable content in the middle like a weird obsession with male characters wanting to either rape or have sex with every woman they encounter or some of the weird parody of feminism done through Lotaria’s character but even with all of that, I still thought it a worthwhile read with lots of lines that make you truly reflect on things

An interesting novel that explores the experience of reading while struggling to keep its reader, or maybe just me, engaged. I wish men would learn how to write complete female characters instead of hollow shells of women with very little personality and a whole lot of breasts.
Moderate: Rape

probably one of the most painful reads i had the misfortune of experiencing. perhaps it's because i don't have the Right Intellectual Mind to properly enjoy this book. i had friends who warned (and complained) of the contents of this book, and i should've listened to them.
