This was my first Frank Behr case that I've read. It was mostly decent. My biggest criticism was Levien's portrayal of libraries and librarians. He must really have no clue what librarians do if he thinks a mentally challenged person as he described in the book is a librarian. Library aide, technician, page probably, but no librarian. And the way he wrote of libraries--because Behr is a big tough guy it would be ridiculous for him to do some research? That's a great message to give your readers. (Please note my sarcasm in my last sentence)

Fairly solid detective fiction, if that's your cup of tea. A flawed hero is all well and good but without wanting to spoil things, the ending in particular made the main character completely unlikable and totally unredeemable.
